I think almost everyone loves music of some sort and I know plenty of people who wont even bother going for a run or to the gym without there iPod. It’s hard to believe music could be so important in our gym routine and daily life, so I want to hear your top 5 workouts songs in the comments section.
[ This photo has nothing to do with working out, but clearly this teddy bear is enjoying some good tunes ]
I have a pretty mixed taste in music and can enjoy a large variety of styles depending on what I’m doing at the time. Although when it comes to working out I want something with a good beat and usually for me that will be some sort of rap/ hip hop or even heavy metal.
When I’m training at the gym I try to bring my own music because often your either competing with men or women at the gym who run the CD player or a radio station that only plays the odd song you can enjoy.
My Top 5 Workout Songs w/Video
1) Classified – ” Oh Canada ” by Luke Boyd who is known as Classified by most fans. This song is a hit in Canada ( go figure ), but Classified is fairly unknown compared to some of the mainstream rappers.
2) Yelawolf – ” Pop the Trunk ” is a pretty new song from up and coming rapper Michael Wayne Atha who is better known by his stage name Yelawolf. His music is absolutely not for everyone, although keep an eye out for him he is going to be really big.
3) Eminem – ” You don’t know ” is the first single off of the album The Re-Up by Eminem who obviously needs no introduction. Also performing on this song 50 cent, Lloyd Banks and Cashis. It has a great beat to it for training.
4) Big Boi - ” Shutterbugg ft. Cutty ” Antwan André Patton mainly known as Big Boi released this song not to long ago on his newest album Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty. Interest name for an album, but once again it has a good beat for training I have found.
5) Pro-Pain - ” The mercy killings ” is a hardcore and groove metal band formed in the early 90′s. I started listening to some of there stuff when I was younger watching terrafirma motocross videos. The band has cycled many members over the years, but Gary Meskil is the vocals and bass player. If you want to lift some iron this song is your jam.
I would consider that my top 5 right now in no particular order, for me it changes every month depending on whats good. In the comments section below I would love to hear what music is helping you get through your workouts right now?.
